PONY National has changed their age charts to reflect recent changes that were voted on by their governing body. These changes put the age back to what it was 6 years ago and will match the age chart used by travel baseball. In previous years, the birthday cutoff was August 31st. This new age chart will have a birthday cutoff of April 30th. So, if your child’s birthday is between May and September and you are moving up a division, you will be in the previous division for an extra year. This is ultimately something that will be great for development and it is a welcomed change.
If your child was affected by the new age rule and would like to play “Up” a division, you must contact the President of Seal Beach PONY directly. Your request will immediately be discussed by the “Board” prior to a decision. In most cases, the final decision will follow the Skills Assessment Day.
