Seal Beach Pony Baseball is the anchor that holds our community together. We are a non-profit youth baseball league who strives for excellence through hard work and determination. The league offers boys and girls, ages 3 - 10 to be part of something truly meaningful through the game of baseball. We are here to make lasting childhood memories, life lessons, and most of all a really fun time! We serve our Seal Beach locals as well as our great neighboring cities of Los Alamitos, Long Beach, Rossmoor and Westminster. We are the purveyors of athleticism, the curators of talent, the agents of confidence. WE ARE SEAL BEACH.
PONY DIVISIONS
SEAL BEACH PONY BASEBALL is for players between the ages of 3 and 10 years old (birthdates between 9/1/2008 and 1/1/2016). Please e-mail registration@sbpony.com if you have any questions about age requirements.
AGE KEY // 09/01/2008 - 08/31/2010
Player Pitch Baseball on a larger diamond (bases are 60 feet apart). The pitcher pitches from a distance of 44 feet. Leading off and stealing is allowed. Tournament teams (traveling/All-Star) will be selected at the end of the season. Assessments are required for the draft.
AGE KEY // 09/01/2010 - 08/31/2012
Player Pitch Baseball on a smaller diamond (bases are 50 feet apart). The pitcher pitches from a distance of 38 feet with a regulation size ball. The Coach pitches after 4 balls. Tryouts and drafts are introduced. Tournament teams (traveling/All-Star) will be selected at the end of the season. Assessments are required for the draft.
AGE KEY // 09/01/2012 - 08/31/2014
Beginning Coach/Machine Pitch Baseball. The focus is on teaching fundamentals. The games are 1 hour long. No standings are kept. Tournament teams (traveling/All-Star) may be selected at the end of the season. No assessment required.
AGE KEY //09/01/2014 - 01/01/2016
Players learn the fundamentals of baseball using softer than usual baseballs and use a tee for hitting. Throughout the season, players can progress to coach pitch. The game is two innings long and all players field and bat. No Scores or Standings are kept. No assessment required.
